Dozens of small businesses have taken residence in this former north downtown Omaha furniture factory. It is a workplace destination for artists, entrepreneurs and creative startups drawn to the building's wide corridors and open floor plans drenched in natural daylight. When the owner, Bob Grinnell, an entrepreneur himself, purchased the vacant structure, it was a dark, boarded up shell without soul. The years of planning, design and construction of this building adaption have been one of PEN's most accomplished achievements. Not only has a meaningful historic building been saved and spared from the landfill, the Mastercraft continues to support the Omaha community with affordable yet authentically designed spaces that inspire.
